New York, July 25th 1787
Dear Sir
In January last I look my seat in Congress and continued untill May, when I met the Delgates from the different States, in Convention, at Philadelphia. After continuing in that Council untill all the first principles of the new Government were established, I came on again to New York, and am now in Congress. The business of the Convention is now going on with some degree of harmony. I dare not communicate any of its proceedings
